How does kinesio–taping work?  Unlike taping methods used to stop muscles and joints from moving (as seen with sprain ankles), kinesio-taping allows the muscles a normal fluid motion, while stabilizing and enhancing the healing process.  Athletes can resume their normal sports activities with certain levels of tendonitis, strained muscles and back pain.  The tape on the skins pulls the upper layers creating more space between the muscle and skin, relieving pressure on the lymphatic channels and enhancing healing.  This space also houses many nerve receptors feeding information from the muscle to the brain.  By increasing the space it also allows the deeper muscles more room to contract which pushes more fluid through the muscle ultimately giving the muscle better performance.
